I cant r/c into a PC on ADSL router
#1
i cant remote control into a PC which is connected to the internet via an ADSL router. i have configure the port forwarding so that the real IP points to the NAT IP on the PC. in netmeeting, the PC behind the router can "call" another PC, but not vice versa. can i assume that port forwarding is working OK and the router is blocking incoming traffic?
is there any special port (or tcp/udp?) i need to setup on the router to allow me to r/c into the PC?
p/s the IP address is dynamic but hasn't changed for the last 2 years!
pp/s if it's help, the adsl router is a smc 7401BRA.

The R/C software should tell you which ports are needed, and once you've forwarded them through the router, al you should need do is set the R/C software on the target PC to host/listen mode so that it can accept the incoming connection.
