got me barton to run @ 2192 Mhz (175 x 12.5). less than 2167 the chip shows up as a 2800+. 2167 is the threshold for a 3000+. can anyone tell me

1. is 12.5 an ok multiplier. 13x just gives me 833 and 866 mhz for some reason I thought these chips were clock locked at 11x multiplier. is it safe to go higher to say 14x or 15x?

2. why the board will not show the cpu as a 3000+ when i run it @ 2192?

cpu temp is at 32c atm and mobo temp is at 18c. i take it these are ok?

cheers

big sinky

those temps are fantastic mate for air cooling. I've just got a new case (7 fans), hs and fan and my temps are 38 degrees on idle and i thought that was low. I wish mine were that low.

Some of the multiplyers dont work, its a known limitation with say the Asus board compared to the NF7 which does unlock all the multiplyers.

I,d try for the 200 fsb once you get better ram, go for say 10 or 11 X 200 to begin with and up the fsb slowly from there. If you get to 11 X 205 or there abouts with your Barton 2500 you will be doing well on air cooling. The increase in bandwidth is worth the lower clock though and your memory (PC3200 - PC3500)will be runnning flat out @ 400 mhz
