Aint looked for ages.. last time I looked it was an awe32! for those that remember it!

Would like surround with it, and also speakers+sub.

Any recommendations? it will be 100% for games.

Excellent, in stock at dabs

Is it worth going for the top one? is that extra panel really worth it?

I have the old SBLive Platinum which has the external ports. I need them for swapping around audio devices that I connect to it . . . if you don't need to be swapping devices around I wouldn't bother

I don't believe i will be swapping them around. But if I do in the future, I am presuming you can purchase it by itself?

These the best speakers for that card, Creative® Inspire™ 6.1 6700? http://uk.europe.creative.com/produc...t.asp?prod=372

The 5300 inspires which are pretty well the 5.1 versions of those were excellent IMO, great sound for the money and could do some good volume and depth too considering. If you want real power, I have the Logitech Z680 speakers and they are monsters . Only problem is a low level hiss through the centre speaker only, berely noticeable depending on placement and only when no other sound playing, but I got one of the very first sets in the country early this year, this may well be fixed now.

Cheers,

Nick

just encase, I decided to order the one with the extra unit, encase I do ever need it.

So I ordered

1x SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum EX
1x Creative® Inspire™ 6.1 6700

from www.aria.co.uk

Was much cheaper than dabs - so I am happy.

And the total for both still doesn't come to how much I paid for my soundblaster aew32 many years ago, lol!
