Windows 2000 Login Question
#1
Hi,
Is there anyway to set the default Domain that is selected in the 'Log on to:' window when logging onto Windows 2000. At the moment it defaults to the local machine but we need it to default to the company domain server.
Thanks
Marc

Marc,
You can set the default login domain in the registry. It's machine specific (i.e. a Local Machine key), so you can't set one domain for a group of users and another for another group (if you follow my drift).
Not sure if you could use a user poilcy to work around this. If you just want everyone to default to the same domain, then you should just need to set the registry key.

Ok, i've found a registry entry that looks like the daddy:
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Win dows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
The entry is DefaultDomainLogin and it is currently set to the local machine. Am i safe to change this to the domain server that i want?
Sorry - don't normally like messing with registries
