Question

Just bought an ATI 9700 card. It says it needs to be powered from the MOBO. No problem, but as this is my first card that needs to do this, where does it take the power from?

Can I assume that you power the card with the additional floppydrive power connector?

any advice for a numbnut

Dan

I got a splitter cable with my 9700 which, as you have said, splits the floppy drive power. One end then goes onto the 9700, the other into the floppy drive.

That's from memory about 4 months ago, but I think it's right!

great

I'll pop down to PC world and get one - there wasn't one with the card.

Cheers

You may have a spare one in the case already. My 9700 Pro used a floppy-type connector, whereas the 9800 Pro uses the hard-drive type of connector.
