Satellite Broadband

IIRC Ian, you still need a normal telephone connection for sending data. The satellite link is only used for receiving data, so unless your 'field' has a phone socket its not going to be easy.

Nope, you can have a full two data link to the 'Net over satellite now.
How long would you be looking to use it for?
The process I've been involved with for providing a sat service is fairly long winded. You need to provide lat & long co-ordinates for the spot it'll be working from and getting info back from the base station wasn't a quick process.
