Just need a little help here if there are any gurus.

I need to write a program that compares the size of a directory to the size of a removable disk.

The problem is I can't find a logical way to find the size of the removable disk (usually E: but can't be gaurenteed) Anyone know of a way to do this ?

BTW It is years since I have done any pascal but I have to write this as what im using at the moment is a nasty nasty dbase routine hack

Stuey,

I do alot of delphi dev. work, under windows its pretty easy cos you can just use win32 api functions like gtediskfreespace and getdrivetype to find what you need. Are you restricted to a DOS environment? Under TP you would probably have to use something like TSearchRec to get a file list and work with that.

Yep, two minutes work in Delphi under Windows, but for the old TP stuff, take a look at this archive, source examples on finding disk space and disks on the system.

Cheers
