need a new pc for home as this one is running badly, any professionals cast their eyes of this puppy for me and tell me how it fares price wise? and any other thoughts?

Yup that'll fly I'd go for the GFX 5900 ultra or ATI 9800 pro 128Mb over the GFX 5800 ultra though.

Looking at the price difference the 5900 Ultra is probably the best bet.

The 5800 Ultra is very loud, very intrusive and not much quicker than a 9700 pro

If you are fairly competant and confident you can buy a simlar systems for 1400 or less, and so save yourself 3-400 quid.

Depends on what you're looking for.

looking for something that will run counter-strike without dropping frame rate and juddering, also would like to get everquest running properly - then i would like to add some more online games.

Ok, the spec as above will do that. But if the budget can stretch to it, get the 5900 or ATI 9800 pro. The 5800 is widely regarded as duff. Not because it won't work, but because it's an under performer for a lot more money.

The 9800 pro is excellent for EQ and also a better '3d image quality' card this means it makes all games look better than the nvidia cards do, in general. I would plump for that.
