CD drive down, Windows Server 2003 install help needed
#1
Currently have 80 gig hd.
Active partition is 10 gig with Windows 2000 Pro (Drive C)
Primary partition is 50 gig with Windows XP Pro (Drive D)
Have created and formated new 10 gig primary partiion (Drive G) after drive D.
Windows 2003 Server install files in a folder on drive G.
If I mark drive G as active and re-boot, will I be able to see the folder that Windows 2003 Server is in, and install from there?

Cheers Miles!
So if I change drive G to active, and re-boot, it will boot into drive G, which deosn't have an operating system installed, and a black dos screen should appear?
From there I should be able to access the Windows Server 2003 folder on drive G (NTFS) and run WINNT32.exe?
This will install Windows Server 2003 on drive G?
Sorry, I know you've already said yes, but I dinny want to end up having to do 3 O/S install's and loose all my files because I won't be able to get access to any more drives if drive G is set as active with not O/S installed yet!!

If its only one HD with 3 NTFS partitions, you shouldn't have to mark the G: partition as active. Just create the partition as you've done and when running the OS setup (from your current OS) just point the target directory to g:\winnt. The BOOT.ini in the active partition controls the startup menu which will allow you to choose which OS to boot into.
Windows XP defines A computer can only have one active partition per disk.
(Ages since I've install more than one OS on a system.)
