Anyone have experience of Plextor CD Writers?
#1
My prehistoric Freecom writer has finally given up after years of faithful service, so I need a new CD writer - I don't particularly want to get a DVD writer, until it's obvious which standard is going to win and the prices have come down/write speeds gone up.
It seems that Plextor are the daddies of CD writers - anyone have any experience of the 52/32/52 Plexwriter Premium?

Cheers Dunk, just looking at a LiteOn drive now, the LTR-52246S. It looks like it's got a higher seek time and doesn't have as many special features, but it's a third of the price of the Plextor Ideally I would have liked one in black too...
What LiteOn writer do you have, out of interest?

Hi Den
hows it going m8?
I got a 40/12/40A and the thing is a demon Does full 700mb cd's in 5 minutes with burn proof on and has hardly ever done a duff cd
I will always use Plextor from now on, had HP 2 speeds before lol, the upgrade was well worth it. Only problem is I can't move around in my flat now for all the gold cd's filling up the place

Thanks for all the replies, just been reading this review of the Plextor http://www.cdrlabs.com/reviews/index.php?reviewid=185 and it gets a very good write up. Cheapest I've seen it for is at EBuyer, £92 including next day delivery. I think we have a deal
Bravo, doing well mate, will have to chat sometime.
