Q: setting up wireless
#1
can this be done, if so how?
i got 2 11Mbps wireless LAN adaptor (PCMCIA). both are same make and model. can i still set it up to surf the net using wireless??? oh, btw... i only got dial-up for my internet access! yes, i know, broadband is better but i cant afford it yet. so it has to be dial-up for the time being

Not sure its possible on a dialup,I think you need an always on connection and a Wireless Router or Wireless Hub connected to the net. I await the flames but in reality Wireless is a waste of time without DSL. I think its potentially possible if you have 2 PC's but its a real pain to use and setup.

You can share your dial-up connection with wireless.
All you need is ICS http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/ics/ics.htm
Configure your wireless cards for AD-Hoc

finally managed to configure it. for some strange reason, the laptop doing the ICS needed a "normal" NIC before i can configure the ICS for the ISP dial-up. then only can i select either the NIC or wireless for ICS.
