Disable the 'Messenger Service' or turn on the firewall in XP.

Scooby Dooby Blue

On your desktop, right-click on 'My Computer' and select 'Manage'
Double-click 'Services and Applications' then 'Services'
Scroll down to 'Messenger' Right-click on it and select 'properties'
Set it's start-up type to disabled.

Note, this service is nothing to do with MSN Messenger.

firewall now on, not done the "manage" trick yet.

Here's me thinking it WAS MSN messenger that was causing it.
