Question

Can anyone help me? I have a bespoke job specific program that I use at work but the PC's have been upgraded from windows 2000 to windows XP and it won't run anymore.

The problem is that the program uses a Hardlock (block box that plugs into the LPT1 port) but I don't have the driver for it to operate on XP. Is there anyway to get XP to use the existing drivers for 2000 or do I just have to try and get a new driver (easier said than done!!).

Any assistance would be grateful.

If you go into device manager ( start, setting Cntrl pnl, system, hardware tab, and click device manager ) navigate to ports and double click on lpt1, you get an option under the port settings tab to use legacy P&P - never needed to use it but it might help?

Also, like 2k, try setting always assign an IRQ to the port under the same settings
