Go Start/Control Panel/User Accounts.
Find your account (may be the only one on the PC except Guest) and click on its icon. Next click on 'Change my account type'.
Here it should tell you whether your account is an admin account or not.
If it is then I don't know I'm afraid. It really shouldn't be denying you access. The only thing you could do is re-install one of the apps. that is denying you access to see if it solves the situation. But then again if it really thinks your not admin then it won't allow you to install/un-install anyway.

I have heard of a similar thing, happening to someone else on here.
What they did to resolve it i cant remember, really helpful aint i.
This looks like a security/profile problem. Password for MSN etc.
I think passwords for MSN are stored in your cookies ??
am i right folks ?
Anti-virus problem... hmmm not cookies , controlled by user account
Have you changed your pc account password lately ?
Have you removed yourself from the administrators group ?
Have you switched off the "protected storage" service, can you check its running.
let us know these first please Si , unless someone can hit the nail on the head.
Cheers
Glenn

Norton Antivirus should have some form of emergency scanning routine you can run from a floppy disc. Suggest you run this and check the drive.
