Hardware overlay on 2nd monitor from Radeon 9700 Pro

Hi All,
Trying to run a TV card in my machine that uses hardware overlay to draw the TV picture on screen. Always has, and still does work perfectly on primary monitor but if moved to monitor 2 the picture is just black.
Anybody know how to set the 9700 Pro up so that it either allows hardware overlay on the 2nd monitor or (preferably) on both ?
I've STFW but no joy.
