P800 and Outlook old chestnut!

Bear with me!
I've loads of contacts synced up on both my Outlook and previous Psion. Nice
But I just cant seem to get them ALL over from Outlook to my new P800 phone. I get many over and happily create multiple entries on both (6 John Smith 'Mobile' for eg!). I've tried changing 'the who syncs who' options but am paranoid about losing any new contacts I might have inputed to the phone since the last sync up. I would have thought that having it in 'update phone and Outlook if there are any conflicts' creates those mega duplicates, but would ALSO have given me the data on both?
