I am thinking of getting an MP3 headunit as I thought that this would be a better alternative to MD. However the more I look into it the MP3 route does not seem as simple as first thought. I keep reading about 'folders, ID tags etc'.

Does anyone know of any sites or even books that will give me an insight of the options available when recording MP3's.

Or even some advice of what type of software I will need.

I have got Nero, CDx and Rip MP3 and run a broadband connection.

Some MP3 download sites would be appreciated but I would rather not use the ones with Spyware etc.

All advice appreciated.

Hi,

I have just got an MP3 head unit for mine - I found it really simple (needs to be for me to do it!). All I did was put the CD's in, copy the MP3 and then burn it using Musicmatch jukebox. All the tags and stuff took care of themselves. The head unit then reads all the data and shows stuff like, song, artist and album. I put 75 songs on 1 cd and it only filled just over half of it!

Well worth it imho.

For those MP3 tags that you don't have, try Tag & Rename.

You can simply do it with NERO...but what version do you have? It gives you the options at the start when you want to copy the mps!

Thanks all,

I have Nero Express (only recently updated), just looked and can now see where you choose the format for burning. (this wasn't available on the normal Nero).

Can anyone explain the use of folders, and if I split the music into folders will I be able to play the discs on my DVD player (it does support MP3).

Bit green on this but I want to make sure I am totally happy with the format before I start to spend the hard earned.
