Question

Am running a SIS315E 128mb card (but only 166mhz), 512 DDR, on an Athlon 1800. The board is an ECS K7S5A which supports 4xAGP.

Gaming plays ok except for the Ardennes map on Mohaa spearhead. the snowy areas (where the allies spawn) are not at all smooth. ping rates vary from server to server, but are generally good 40-150.

Don't want to upgrade mboard or cpu yet (later this year) but would like to upgrade card, spending as little as possible and ensure it will be good enough for another 12monnths.

Any recommendations.

Can you stretch to a Radeon 9500 Pro?

£119 + VAT vs £115 + VAT for the bog std 9500.

This review does not include the 4800 but does compare the 4600. The 4800 is an AGP 8x version of the 4600 - there is a bit more to it than that actually but the review should give you an idea.
