PC cases + front usb ports

I want a case for my PC with front USB ports........ Not being too clever with pc hardware how does this work. Will I need a new motherboard aswell(my current one has 2 usb ports)???

Cases with USB ports will have a cable running from them that will need to be connected to header pins on your motherboard.
