Only had the damn thing for about a year, piece of s**t - Epson Stylus Color 760 and its not working. I'm almost certain that the print head is clogged/blocked. Mechanically, its doing what it should but the paper is blank. I tried numerous clean cycles but the end result is the same, a blank sheet.

I thought that it was worth trying cleaning cartridges so ordered a black and colour set and ran some clean cycles, etc. Eventually got a broken text print (in faint cleaner form) but then when I plugged in the ink cartridges again, nothing not even a line or a dot.

I read on a forum about fixing your own printer (yes, there is one) that Epson printers are prone to blocked print heads. Is there anything else I can do (I suspect a new print head will cost more than a new printer) or shall I just throw it into a skip.

I now see you've done that....... you have to try and use the full cleaning cartidges printing full a4 pages of pictures... in the clear ink.

Then the new ink takes a while to come through. It worked for me, but that's no good for you, is it

Just make sure you use them on a regular basis. Met with Epson yesterday to discus a number of things and this is the advice they gave. You are likely alos to get colour banding if the printer has not been used for a couple of weeks and printing out a couple of pages normally clears it.

The ink settles in the tanks and also dries on the print heads blocking them.

You can buy inexpensive cleaning cartidges.... work out about a tenner for black and colour.

Then, buying colour cartidges from places like SVP communiactions for £3, you can't go wrong with the 760
