I never use access, so apologies for the dumbness of this..

Created a table and a form just fine
One field on the table and form needs to be the sum of two other fields (field C=field A+ field B).. so I created an event on the form (using before update) to do :-

=[Qualifying]+[Singles]

But it's not doing nuffin - any ideas ??
I still can manually enter a number into the field which is supposed to be a calculation if it helps

I'm guessing the total is a field of your table?

Assuming it is then you have these 3 text boxes on your form, all bound to their respective fields. Something like this...

To update the Total box you could use a bit of code in the after update event for the single field

Private Sub Singles_AfterUpdate()
Me.Total = Me.Qualifying + Me.Singles
End Sub

This will update the total field.
