Once it has been loaded and scanned all your existing files does it then scan any new files automatically????

What virus scanner??
Depends on how its set up..
NAI can be set to scan on reads and / or writes..
Enterprise version can be restricted by process as well..

With regards to the question of "Does it scan new files automatically" - Yes it does as long as you get the updates. (are you connected to Norton to receive live updates?)
