Nothing in the floppy drive is there? thats an old classic

Also check your system bios boot up order, and make sure the HDD is listed on it, usually behind the CD-ROM and FLOPPY (thats my preffered order anyway)

I have got this exact same problem today.

Replaced dead primary hdd. BIOS did not recognise the new HDD, although i set the jumpers to same settings. Played around a bit, and it was recognised on secondary IDE channel, so will play around a bit more tonight.

Check theres nothing in the floppy drive, and that the BIOS can see the main HDD. Check for loose cable seating.
