GTA3 and GTA Vice City on Gamecube?

Rumours are abound that GTA will be available on the Cube next year - anyone heard anything about it/got any screenshots?

Seems doubtful, GTA is an exclusive PS licence (much like Mario on the nintendo)
Driver 3 (or is it 4 - I lose count) however might make an apperance, It's coming to the xbox later this year and many reports say the new style of gameplay introduced into it could make it rivel GTA3:VC.
Plus having due out over 18 months after the PS2 version came out will make it look seriously dated.

Vice City is coming out on other platforms (PC), not sure about the Gamecube though, as it has been said before it is a Nintendo, and I believe Sony bought the rights to any GTA game.

Sony did buy the exclusive rights to GTA, but the deal runs out at the end of this year, so I guess this is where the rumours have come from. Don't hold your breath though. By the time it does appear (if it ever does) it's going to be pretty old hat compared to the newer stuff being released...

According to a Investor's Business Daily report today, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto 3 will be coming to the Xbox and GameCube respectively - after its exclusivity deal runs out with Sony and its popular PlayStation 2 game console. A paragraph in the report (which details several of Rockstar’s upcoming games including The Warriors and Manhunt - Rockstar has ten in development right now) says that the next GTA game is slated for a release sometime in 2004, but that older versions of the series (GTA 3 and Vice City) will be made available on other platforms. There's no denying that GTA games on any platform will sell like hot cakes.
