Heres a good one....
For a hme ethernet interface in Solaris, what does hme stand for ??
Have found something that says "Happy Meal Ethernet" - apparently a code name for the chipset (yeah right) and something else that says "hundred megabiit ethernet" - more believeable.
Anyone else ??
Dave

Right seeing as tho i have too much time on my hands, this is the history:
First it was the 10 Mbps Intel 82586 ethernet, on-board (4/100 and 4/200, may not be working properly on 4/400) and VME card (/ie/)
Then came the 10 Mbps AMD 7990 Lance ethernet, on-board (4/300, sun4c, and sun4m) and sbus card (/le/)
Next was the single 100 Mbps be ethernet interface and four 10 Mbps Mace ethernet interfaces, sbus card (/qec/)
Next came the 100 Mbps half-duplex "Big Mac" ethernet, sbus card (/be/) /(1.5)/
Following that was the 100 Mbps full-duplex "Happy Meal" ethernet, sbus card (/hme/)/(1.5)/
And then the quad 100 Mbps full-duplex "Happy Meal" ethernet (four ethernet interfaces), sbus card, (/qfe/) /(1.6)/
So there we have it, as Michael confirmed above.
Do you want fries with that..........
