Windows XP - Outlook Express crashing!

Hi
One of our machines is a P3 450MHZ / 512Mb running Windows XP with all the latest patches etc along with firewall and AV software.
We run Outlook express on this machine and it frequently crashes, usually after using the 'add signature' option. It then offers the option of sending the report to Microsoft or not (have done this now).
Obviously when it crashes we lose whatever information was in the mail (often quite a lot of information) which is frustrating to say the least!
Anyone know a fix for this? Is it a known issue? Anyone offer any help?
