Can anyone recommend a browser/newsreader for Linux, or is Mozilla the best there is?
regards,
Greg

I prefer Opera, much faster to use than Mozilla and I really like its features such as page zoom, mouse gestures, etc. For reading Usenet I use tin which is a terminal based client, you might not like that though.

Change it in the preferences. Perhaps your resolution is just too darn high

Well, the tables not seeming to line up is dodgy HTML, probably only tested on IE as 99% of sites are these days, the font sizes you can just change.

I see from the top right corner that it can impersonate a different browser? This maybe why it has issues?

No, that just changes HTTP_USERAGENT for those lame sites that attempt to detect your browser and serve content according to that.

The only fonts I can see under Opera preferences are
Normal text
Active button text
Inactive button text
Hotlist text
which seem to only change the fonts in the menus etc, not on the webpage!

When I go to preferences I see a "Document" subheading and I can change it all in there, it's not under the "General" section.

install the microsoft fonts on your linux box. You can then pick these up in the browser.
