Storing Photos

Ah - misread the question.
I've got a spare card reader - Fuji DPC-R1 brand new - in unopened packet. Reads xD cards and smartmedia. Cost £29 - sell £15 - free postage - can't be arsed with e-bay. Mail me if interested.

Can anyone direct me to a device for storing photos instead of going to the expense of buuying a lappy ? Something I can download onto from my Card until I get home to then download onto my PC .

Also worth considering just buying more cards - the price is coming down all the time.
Try Value Media.
I've got a couple of 512Mb cards and they're good for around 200 frames each at max quality JPEG (6 mega pixels). Unless you're capturing RAW format, which is a different matter.....

A USB key would be no use at all - you'd need a laptop to plug it in, and it doesn't have any better cost/capacity than the camera's memory card. You want a Flash reader with a hard disc, like the Image Tank, X-Drive or the Archos Multimedia Jukebox.

Thanks everyone for your input. I finally went out and purchased a lappy today. It was the best option after all for various reasons. Got a good deal because it was the display model and for other reasons which I cannot divulge here......suffice to say got almost £300 knocked off the price !! NICE deal !

With a laptop it's well worth getting a PCMCIA flash card reader - it's one less lead to carry.
I bought a Compact Flash one as thats what my camera uses, then bought a SmartMedia/Memory Stick/MMC/SD combo card for the other slot so I can get pictures of other peoples cameras too
