Recently (maybe since latest pathes etc) IE6 on my PC is running dog slow (takes ages to load web pages), cleared out all the crap etc etc
A reboot normally fixes it. Also I have just loaded Netscape to prove it's IE and not my Net connection.. "netscrape" works just fine..
Anybody else got problems with IE6 ?? any ideas on how to fix..

Had a similar problem with IE6 recently. Went through all sorts of things to try and find the cause. I *think* something had managed to dowload itself to my PC (the other 'arf also uses it ... not that I'm suggesting anything you understand ... :-) ) so every now and then when I was connected it would then hog most of the bandwidth. Or maybe something was corrupted.
Whatever, at the end of the day I reloaded the OS and service packs (W2K) and then reloaded IE6. All has been fine since. I tried just reloading IE6 but that didn't solve the problem - nor did zapping all the plugins......
Hopefully yours is a simpler problem to solve ...
Cheers

its very quick and pretty too...

I did try opera a while back and it seemed slower than IE6. Not sure if opera is moptimised for slow speed and dsl type connections ??
I was testinging it on a 12Mbit E3 circuit..
Maybe I will try opera at home..

Remember that MS has removed the Java virtual machine from IE6 after they lost that court battle with Sun. Only way to get it back is to install the Java applet from the Sun website.
