Anyone out there got either of these?

I want a device to enable me to pipe my MP3 collection from the PC to my HiFi, as a sort of home jukebox type thing. I have seen both of these devices and read reviews and their doesn't seem to be much between them, so I'm after first hand experience reviews.

So far I've deduced that they both cost about the same. The Audiotron is hifi rack mountable and a lot bigger than the Slimp3, but has digital out, with the Slimp3 lacks. The slimp3 is software updateable.

Anyone offer user opinions on either?

Hi Alex

I can't give you unbiased user opinion as I'm the UK Slim Devices distributor. What I can point out though is:

1. We've sold hundreds of SliMP3s in the UK. We have several users that have got out of AudioTron and into SliMP3. I don't know of any that have gone the other way.
2. SliMP3 UK price: £209.99 inc VAT. Audiotron UK price: £350.00 inc VAT.
3. AudioTron is limited to a c.30,000 song music library. SliMP3 has no limits.
4. SliMP3 server is available for Windows, Macintosh and Linux
5. The open source community has written loads of nifty SliMP3 enhancements such as email header readers, news tickers, etc.

Cheers

Lee.

Ive a SliMP3 and have found it faultless. It can be a bit tricky for someone with no networking experience to set up but nothing that somneone couldnt help you with np.

I like the fact that it is small, runs on perl, that its well supported by firmware upgrades and has a very customisable interface.
