Question

Broadband out here has a 3GB limit per month on downloads. After that it goes to the equivelant of a 28.8k modem.

I was wondering what the possibility of getting an alternative - American or British broadband ISP over in Australia was like and whether anybody has achieved this?
I am ready for any mocking answers due to me asking a stupid question.

Thanks in advance anyway.

Michelle.

Without knowing the specifics of the Aussie setup, unfortunately probably not. ie in the UK all broadband is basically provided by BT Wholesale who then in turn connect the incoming ADSL connections to your ISP. That connection to your ISP from BTW is usually fast Ethernet (100Mbps) or gigabit (1000Mbps), hence I'd be staggered if any British or American ISP installed that size of connection between themselves and Australia. Be cheaper laying your own transocean fibre link.

Not true. That is only for Optus and then only at a particular service (ie $ ) point.

Unlimited Broadband internet is available , eg TPG for $69.95pm , amongst others.
