Windows XP Error Problem

every time i start windows i get this error message from windows Xp saying internet explorer has caused a problem and will be shut down! even when i havent opened IE!!!!!!! its really doing my head in i send the report to microsoft via a button on the dialogue box!i heard nothing back is there any way i can avoid this problem!

please help!

Don't really know the cause, i'd say re-install XP or re-install IE...

Are you sure its Internet Explorer crashing or just Explorer ?

i'm not sure at all!!! i tried re-installing both! but still no luck could it be the service pack?

Possibly, i found that i had all sorts of problems afer installing the service pack and other 'critical' updates for XP

Take em off and see what happens
