Anyone using these?

Saw dogmauls tonight as i whooped his **** on Generals

Very impressed tbh. I didnt rate them but must admit it looks tidy and compact.

Whats the practicalaty though?

Looking at the above model, but whats the max cpu it will take?
Also whats the onboard GPU and sound like? and issues when cpus maxed out?

Si

Presume you mean the SN41G2?

Praticality? Great if you don't want a wedge of HDs, multiple DVD/CD-Rs etc.

Onboard video is about the same as any other NForce2 mobo - GF4MX.

AFAIK it will run with Barton core XPs.

They'll take cpu's up to 400mhz fsb with the current bios ( all the XP/Barton range )

Onboard GPU is a GF4MX as ChrisB says, so it's not there for serious gaming ( that's what the AGP slot is for ) the onboard sound is fine IMO, optical outs for a 5.1 amp if you want it.

The only issue with the cpu maxed out is the achilles heel of all SFF boxes - heat. It just means the fans run quicker/louder while it's under peak load. Trivial swap to quieter fans than stock though.

Cheers. chris i just copied the code from Microdirect.

Looks quite tidy, trouble is she has separate cd/CDrw drive but suppose im saving a few 100 with onboard gpu and sound.

The fan on mine hasn't once switched up to hi-speed mode, although I don't play any games.

I use mine on a daily basis for work and its superb.

No control over multipliers though si ... fsb can be tweaked in 1mhz increments though.

Use one of mine as a house jukebox (feeds MP3 panels and an amp rack), house controller and home cinema component.

Good as the basic model but there are even more stylish cases out there.

Peeps...

I'm keen on building an SN41G2, but think the aesthetics of the finished unit will be a bit naff....

ie silver case, buttons etc but ivory CDRW/DVD and ivory FD.

Have I missed a trick???
