Cool

Go into explorer - Windows key + E or right mouse click on Start & Explore.

Find & select the photo or photos that you want.

File - Resize Pictures is the 4th one down - select 640 x 480 and it will make copies of them for you in the same directory with (small) appended to the file name.

Hi

Most people run there desktop in 1024 by 768 so for web pics your best of with pic size of 640 by 480 to 800 by 600. Dont know whether you have anu better paint software than the standard xp one so here's hpw to do it on paint.
Click start -> programs -> accessories -> paint
when paint opens click file -> open and choose pic you wish to resize
Now click Image -> attributes this will tell you current height and width of pic i.e 1600 by 1200 click cancel
Now click Images -> stretch skew, bit of maths needed now if you wish to make pic smaller you need a percentage in the stretch horizontal and vertical to be lower than 100 percent, to make image larger you need to increase percentage i.e 130 percent.

Now for the maths
1600 by 1200 oringinal pic we want to make 800 by 600
1 percent of 1600 is 16, 800 divided by 16 is 50.
So we now know we need to change stretch to 50 percent for height and width.

Click okay after editing theese numbers then just to check it worked click image -> attributes, smile then cancel
Now click file save as type in a new name for resized image over wise you will over write original and use this as web one

Si

..as title, windows xp,can't find it listed anywhere as an option ,even used search option i've found where to resize them in cm or inches but i was told i could rasize them to 640x820(i think it was) to fit a post just right if i resize by cm it'll be guess work as the photos' dimensions should fit a post just right according to it's properties listed in photo editor
