engineering comp courses?
#1
just a little bit of background
I have a degree in Product design so iv used AutoCAD 2000 and Solidworks.
Im thinking of doing a City and Guild in AutoCAD 2D just to polish up on my CAD stills but when i came to ask about it the bloke told me not to waste my time and money doing it, cuz iv used it before. He told me to do the Solid Modelling/ Pro Engineering course instead.
Do you think it would be better to do the AutoCAD or Pro Engineering. He told me i should just play with AutoCad at home.
If you was looking thougth CVs would you look for AutoCAD or Solid Modelling/Pro Engineering?

solid modeling.
AutoCAD is slowly dying a death. It has already had one replacement in the form of mechanical desktop. Now this is slowly being driven out and replaced with Inventor. Other good modelers are :
Solidworks (one of the best. Massive in the UK and US)
pro engineer (I think this is what you were refering to)
Catia (another great one. Mainly used in car design)
SDRC_IDEAS (UNIX package, very very powerfull)
There are loads, but I'll let the 3D designers guide you.
