Right, getting back into gaming, it's been a while.

I have downloaded Elite 2: Fontier, but with no sound it's a pain, plus I can't work out how to hyperspace (any manuals for it out there?). I used to love elite, great game, hence me wanting to play it.

I HAVE seen the thread about Freelancer, and might look it up, maybe.

Anyway, I also fancy a flight sim type thing. I used to have F/A 18 and Falcon on the Amiga, and I rather liked them, so anything similar for the PC (nice free one would be cool )

So, recommendations please.

Instructions for FE2 and FFE should be online. Have a look at the links from alioth.net.

Get the new IL-2 game, its out next week i believe, i have mine on pre-order from amazon for 25 quid i think. Its amazing and its IL-2 pre-decessor was combat flight sim game of the year.

Freelancer 2 is out soon also, maybe IL-2 can tide you over till its out?

game is 20 quid
Theres a new addon coming soon too

F/A 18 on my amiga
Ahh F/A-18 interceptor by any chance?
I used to love that game, the last mision was bloody hard (sink the sub I believe)

The PC vers was called Jetfighter.
If you're into not-quite-so-serious flight combat sim then I play F-22 Raptor3 (or it's sister games F/16 and Mig29 - you can play all 3 over a lan against each other) You can pick all3 up in a compilation pack for around £15
