I have a PC running XP Pro on a PII 350 and 684 Meg of RAM.
It is sloooooooooooooow.
And I haven't even bothered trying to run UD on it 'cos it will ruin my averages!!

I have a laptop with a Celeron 433mhz and 288mb ram. Recently changed from W98SE to XPHome. Now boots quicker, battery lasts longer, and everything runs fine.
Win98 probably happier with the amount of memory you have, but it is cheap now so may be worth getting some more anyway. check the limits though, mine will not accept dimms bigger than 128mb, well it does but only uses 128mb of each one.
I have tried Win2k Pro on it, very slow.
If you are considering anything higher than Win98SE then check if your BIOS supports ACPI. Mine didn't and I had to upgrade it first.
It's an Ultra / AJP, and originally had 96mb, 32mb on board and a 64mb dimm.
