Just got broadband and cant see any pictures, HELP!!!!

Can anyone of you clever IT bods assist a fellow Scooby Netter??
I have a high spec PC (2.53 Pentium 4 with XP) and have just got broadband, looking at the gallery section of Scoobynet I have found that virtually all pictures are not shown on screen (get the white box with red cross instead) yet on my work laptop (pstn connection) all is fine and dandy, can anyone advise me as to what I need to do or what I have done wrong????
