Hi all,

Just need some advice re: repairing a chipped playstation. It all worked fine but got noiser and noiser and then started working only intermittently. When you pop a disc in you get a noise similar to a drill or a sound like the disc is cavating the drive.

Any ideas where I can get this fixed locally, ie the north west ?

Thanks

sounds like the drive is on its way out?
playstationmods.com have all the bits you will need.

or take it to Bowlers in Manchester on saturday, there will be loads of people there that could probably help
never been myself but i have heard its full of people chipping machines,so there should be someone who will repair it for you.

i could give you the number of a mate who is in blackpool that could fix it but its a long way for you to come.

I think you will find that any of the local computer fairs someone will be able to help you, I would take a look at www.fairs.co.uk and see if that helps
