I've tried all the file sharing packages ever mentioned to me. But, uninstalled them all after reading the licence agreements. Fully patched and service packed as of last night. Adaware 6 and my Antivirus says I'm clear.
Right now 4,***,***,*** packets sent in 10 minutes, which to me seems pretty unlikely.

find out what process are active and what is sending the them. Then you can solve it.
Off the top of my head I can't remember the names of any GUI program in windows that does this as I don't really use it. I know many in the shell, but I doubt you want to be messing with those.
I'm sure someone will be able to give you the name of a prog. I think active ports will show you which processes are accessing the net, but they don't provide data flow. Netstat will also show you this. (I think the new option is -o to do this)
Otherwise, if you know what your doing, you could set up a sniffer and capture the offending data.

You could try Zonealarm as that'll identify each app which tries to establish a connection, outbound and inbound. It also flashs the icon of any active apps from within the main app.
Otherwise try running the eval network probe from the site below. It shows hosts etc and packets they are sending and recieving.

nope it is weird... you aren't running anything through loopback are you ( 127.0.0.1 ) ? File & printer sharing ?
netstat -nr should identify any *odd* ports in use.

Steve,
I spent ages trying to work out what the command was to lok for open ports. All I could find was nbtstat info, not really what I was looking for.
