hello all
I've recently had intermittent problems with internet access (Surfboard modem, Chello broadband) - all woudl be fine, then suddenly seemed to drop connection - I couldn't even ping the DHCP or DNS servers shown by ipcong /all.
I think I solved by removing and reinstalling TCIP service (not a real techie - don't know why it worked) but I'm now I'm having probs with Zone Alarm - just won't start up. See a flicker of a window, then nothing. No ZA process running afterwards.
I'm running W2k on Athlon 1900 and it's a registered copy of ZA Pro.
Any ideas? Feelin' kinda naked!

What version of ZoneAlarm are you running?
IIRC there were compatibility issues with Win2K and the new ZA Pro v3.5
Servers hanging, script blocking errors etc.
I think this was resolved in version 3.5.169 Perhaps try and upgrade?
Best of luck,
Paul

I have had some trouble with ZA in the past. It would corrupt and then block all my internet access completely even uninstalling it wouldn't sort it until I reinstalled it and reset all the settings when it was setting up.
Andy
Edit- I only found out the problem when I called BTinternet and was told that this was quite a common problem with it at that time.
