I have a 2 PC's at work on a 3COM ISDN router. One of which always dials into the internet when it boots.
I can't seem to stop it doing it.
Using the 3COM 'current call statistics' I see that the ISDN call was inintiated due to a DNS query to REDPUP.REAL.COM, yes the PC has got RealPlayer installed, but I have disabled the Tray Icon and StartCenter. I have checked ALL the startup folders and the 'run' folder in the registry, no Real stuff in there.
The other PC has exactly the same version of Real installed yet does not do this.
What is this PC sitting on an expensive ISDN connection for? No reason I can see!
Calling the Power of Scoobynet......Heeelllllppp.
Thanks in advance

Try installing ZoneAlarm. When it tries to connect, ZA will tell you what application (.exe etc) is making the attempt. You could then block it as a policy. Not a solution, but a workaround and it'll help you identify the problem better.
