Question

I posted before I was having problems with my home PC connecting to Scoobynet - everything else is fine and I can log in ok through work. It's not my ISP, V21, as I've been trying BT click with the same problem. When I try to access any of the www.scoobynet sites the message on the bottom of the IE6 says 'connecting to site 217.79.111.23' then it gives me the blank 'page not found screen'. If I keep disconnecting my ISP and retrying it eventually gives me the 'web site found' message' and I get on ok. It's nothing to do with the new Snet server as it happened on the old server as well. Anyone any ideas ? and what site is 217.79.111.23 ?

Kevin.

I've emptied the cache, deleted the history, reloaded IE6, dowloaded and run window washer and ad-aware and tried all the IE6 settings in fact I think I've done all the easy stuff - verging on reloading win 2000. Anyone tell me what the above IP address is for is it SNET ?

Can you ping www.scoobynet.co.uk?

use this command (sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs )

ping www.scoobynet.co.uk -t

Check it doesn't timeout and use ctrl-break or ctrl-c to stop the ping.

Stefan,

Thanks - ping'd ok just now but next time it fails to find SNET again I'll try pinging it. What happens if it can't find it ?

Aha, just logged off and got the looking for 217 blah blah IP address. Ran the Ping command as above and it's timing out. How do I sort this ?, I'm on an ISDN 64k connection.
