We current have a single 256Kb connection with Demon which costs roughly £700 per month
It's been very reliable, with only a couple of occassions where we were down competely. Lately though performance has been pretty poor (certainly compared to my 512Kb cable connection @ home) and Demon have had some packet loss problems which hasn't helped matters.
Looking at the BY 2Mb business connection (approx £170 per month). I realise this is a contended connection so performance will vary, but we could have 3 of these (even seperate ADSL) lines for the same costs as our existing Kilostream.
Anyone running broadband @ work? If so how reliable has it been and what is the performance like?

I've set-up a number of clients with ADSL rather than lease lines and on the whole it works OK. You don't get any SLAs with ADSL so if your business absolutley relies on the ability to communicate (ie you can't last a day without Internet access) then don't do it.
There are boxs around now which will aggregate 2 or 3 ADSL (or lease line) circuits together. The problem with an ADSL solution is still that it runs into the same exchange. One possibilty would be ADSL with a ISDN backup.

10MBit at work, hopefully it will be upgraded to 100MBit in the next year. It's nice when you can download service packs quicker than the server can install them. We had a 128k leased line(expensive, slow etc) and had looked into 2Mbit ADSL but the cable company kept wanting us to keep the leased line(because it was more expensive).

I do
(to answer the question)
but our stuff seems to work quite happy on 64k ISDN anyway
Funny enough, WillieF is involved somewhere along as well
VPN between 2 (rising shortly to 4+ ) offices & remote workers NP.
Any other Qs? I can quite happily dial into one office from Ireland & control PCs in the other... ( )
