On an NTL set-top box the main aerial looks like a simple co-ax. Does anybody know whether it is because I need to move the box to the other side of the room and therefore need a longer piece.
One more thing its got those funny end pieces anybody know how to get them on and put new ones on?

Try http://www.maplin.co.uk/ - I suspect that you need 2 x "F" plugs (FU04E), an adapter/joiner (FE92A) and the required length of cable (XS16S).
Thanks

Tis "Simple Co-ax" but you need to ensure it is Satellite/Cable spec. Think the Maplin code given above is the correct one.
BTW Officially you are not allowed to tamper with that cable - it is in contravention of NTLs AUP.
Just like you're not allowed to split the signal from the STB to more than one TV
