Under pressure, I installed this. I then had to register a hotmail account etc etc etc

Now I don't want a hotmail account or have the username whateverthef@hotmail.com as a login...

So how do I register my email addy (puff@sidc.co.uk) instead?

You don't you need an MSN passport, create a hotmail account, and forget about it!

You don't need to use a hotmail account. Create a passport with your existing mail account.

EDIT: Or File->Sign In->Get a .NET Passport (at the bottom of the dialog)

Another thing, if you don't want messenger then try trillian - it's a superb IM client that connects to MSN, AOL, and others too...

Doesn't install tonnes of ****e on your system either.

Here's one!
I've installed messenger 5.0 on my Windows XP but every time I start outlook it loads the old Messenger 4.x version.
Is there anyway I can get rid of the old version or is it to integral to windows xp?
I thought 5.0 was supposed to superceed 4.x and replace it.
Any help will be....er...useful
Cheers

Howdo - cannot get Yahoo Messenger working behind firewall.
Thaught I'd give Trillion a go if it works across the platforms.
Any one got a web address for it ?? Tried looking from kartoo.com but no joy !
