External Print Server - USB ??

We have an HP DeskJet 1220c A3 colour printer here @ work that I want to stick directly onto our network.
There's loads of cheap'ish print servers that I could connect using the parallel port. Wondered if I could use the USB port instead and if there would be any benefits.
Found an HP one, but it's over £200 (more than the printer cost).
Anyone know of any others and if it's worth sourcing one or should I just stick to the parallel port?
