is there a way of listening to the radio from a pc without a sound card ie through serial port, i want to listen to the radio at work and cant start installing soundcards.

why cant you install a sound card its very easy.
or buy a radio!

There are USB sound cards/boxes IIRC, you basically plug a box into the USB port and then plug speakers/headphones into the box.
