Has anybody encountered a problem where the attachment to an email dissapears and is replaced with something like this in the body of the message.

Usually when someone has 'replied' rather than 'forwarded' the email to you.

Was it a .doc or something else ?

Thats what I thought but a colleague of mine tested it and it happens when he forwards.

Its just a .doc

Actually DJ it is ones that he is sending, rather than receiving...

Sometimes this can occur if the system uses a Unix internet gateway and it's not configured correcly.
However it tends to happen with all attachements and only to mails going outside the Microsoft environment.
