Hi all,
Having some internet probs - got a cable modem connection (Motorola sb4200).
Last flat had similar broadband connection to Chello, dropped once a month max. New place, same PC, same company, but I seem to have to unplug and replug the modem (sometimes works) or "release and renew" the connection in DOS as I suddenly get the HTTP 400 error for all sites.
Sometimes the modem looks connected, other times it's clearly trying to reconnect.
Now I've got a new one - can access Scoobynet (obviously) and Google (including random non-cache 'help' pages) but get the same error for everything else.
I'm using Zonealarm and Adsubtract with IE5 (just checked, have the same problem using Opera) - software setup hasn't changed since I moved flats.
Anyone help? Think there may be more than one problem here!!
cheers
ian

It's like taking the car to the garage - all ok now on that front!
Prob best to ignore today's problem - but might be worth knowing common causes/solutions for why the modem drops its connection or why it often fails to resolve domain names when apparently connected.
